Title: No Admittance

this is a decisive moment by how the photographer captured a moment where all his subjects are acting natural because it seems that they are unaware that they are being photographed.

Garry Winogrand
Los Angeles, California
1969

The main idea that Winogrand is trying to portray in his book is lighting and street photography in big city's. A majority of his photos from this book demonstrate the purpose of making everyday life in the city's look interesting. Winogrand conveys this message by taking photos from angles that you would normally not see if you were walking down the side walk, his light sources and shadows also help the photo tell a story. like the photo above is back lit with the women walking towards you all glammed up, a normal thing to be seen in the city but the more details you see that there is women sitting in a wheel chair to the left and a family waiting for the bus to the right. this photo showing that so many different types of people can be found in LA with in one moment. Winogrand is able to make his series in the book all flow together nicely by photographing the ugly streets and making them look interesting and beautiful.
